I just have to share with you ,the most amazing trek of my life- around the Cordillera Huayhuash. It`s two week trek from Huarez. Compared to the Santa Cruz trek, it is 10 times better, with much much less people, but it is also harder with about 7-8 passes ranging between 4200-5200 m, plus ,even in the dry season we got caught in two snow storms. amazing and if you have the time. Do it! I can`t remember all the details, and the route, but you can get all the info in Huaraz. Also, I highly suggest to rent a donkey ,and a guide/driver- arriero ,because you have to be superman to carry on your back all the equipment (tent, stove, etc.) and food for two weeks....
